In this presentation, Dr. Mottron will argue that when language emerges in autism, its acquisition does not necessarily follow the same route as in typical development.

In this breakout session, Dr. Mottron will expose the heterogeneity of clinical profiles integrated in DSM-5 autism, their developmental transformations, and the role of standardized tools in clinical diagnosis.
